French independent photographer since 1999, Bruno Poinsard has developed a sensitive visual language centered on the sea, matter and light. Bridging fine art and editorial photography, his work explores memory, energy and perception through a minimalist and immersive approach to black-and-white imagery.

Career

1963 - Born in Fontenay-sous-Bois, France
Moved to Pointe-Noire, Congo, the same year, where he developed a formative connection with the sea and sailing.
1973–1978 - Casablanca, Morocco
Introduced to black-and-white photography and the darkroom by his father.
First experiences at sea aboard oceanographic research vessels.
1980–1988 - Les Glénans Sailing School
Cruising skipper. Developed a photographic perspective shaped by the changing states and movements of the sea.
1989 - First photography internship at Studio Pin-Up, Paris
1990–1993 - Photographer’s Assistant at Studio Pin-Up, Paris
1993–1999 - International Freelance Photographer’s Assistant
